Quantum Leap CD Release Party
On September 14, 2006, The Matt Savage Trio performed a special concert at the Bösendorfer New York Showroom in Manhattan. The occasion was a CD Release party to kick off the release of their newest CD, “Quantum Leap.” The official release date for “Quantum Leap” was September 19. The whole evening was amazing. There was wonderful Austrian and American food and drink. The people in attendance were excited and full of anticipation. The Bösendorfer New York hosts were perfect. And Matt had the most exciting thing of all…the “Big Boy” of pianos on which to perform. Yes, he got to perform on the 9 ft Bösendorfer Imperial Piano. The Imperial has 9 “extra” keys in the lower register, expanding the number of notes possible to play to 97 and bringing the lowest note down to a LOW C….a full 8-octave range. Matt loves to be ALL over the piano…playing in both the upper and lower registers during his improves. The Imperial provided him with just that much more range. He took advantage of it, sliding back and forth on the piano bench to reach extremes. It was an incredible concert. We will be putting some video of this performance up on the site as soon as possible.
