The Matt Savage Trio

Benefit concert at Temple B'nai Torah

May 20, 2001

Matthew’s performance at Temple B’nai Torah was a complete success.  There was a terrific turnout.  John Funkhouser, a professional musician and teacher, played bass.  Steve Silverstein, a teacher at The Rivers School and professional musician, played drums.  Both men are extremely talented and WOW a crowd wherever they play.  We were very fortunate to have them volunteer their time and talent to perform at our benefit concert.  Thank you so much to everyone who helped out, especially John and Steve.  Thanks also to Temple B'nai Torah which donated the space for the event.

John Funkhouser and Steve Silverstein were amazing, and the three musicians played as if they had been in an ensemble together for years.  Matthew played like never before.  The musicians obviously enjoyed themselves immensely.  The audience LOVED the performance, and the benefit was a complete success.

Lifetime Television filmed the performance and will use excerpts from the concert in their story about Matthew.  The story was aired on November 10, 2001.
