Album debuts in Top 40 on the “Jazzweek” Charts

New York, NY: “Quantum Leap,” released in September, is the fifth CD by The Matt Savage Trio, seventh album by Savage, and the first to receive nationwide retail and international distribution via Palmetto Records (MRI/RED). The November issues of JAZZIZ andJazzTimes both feature excellent reviews of “Quantum Leap.” Praising Matt’s talent, JAZZIZ says, “as always his amazing technique shines.” JazzTimesdescribes Savage sounding like a “schooled, seasoned jazz pianist” who is “well on the way to forging an effective personal language.” In October, the album received a rave review in the All Music Guide, describing it as “absolutely astonishing, refreshing and engaging.”

“Quantum Leap,” can be heard on Jazz stations throughout the country. The album debuted in the Top 40 on the Jazz Week charts and adds have been reported in such major cities as Houston, Tucson, Memphis, Orlando, Spokane and Toledo, among others. New World n’ Jazz has been secured to work the album through the duration of the project. Matt was interviewed on Boston’s biggest jazz program, “Eric in the Evening” on WGBH-FM. This was Matt’s second interview with Eric Jackson and “Quantum Leap” was included in the evening’s sampling of the best new jazz recordings.

The Matt Savage Trio will return to Manhattan on Monday, February 5, 2007 to perform at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center. This will mark the Trio’s first performance at Dizzy’s and it will kick off ASCAP’s “Month of Mondays” jazz showcase series. Also in the new year, “Quantum Leap” will be featured in the Listening Stations of all Borders Books and Music stores throughout January and February.
